T7 students are about to embark on a new adventure!

Included in our programming this year is Adventures in Art and Literacy, a new Saturday program for T7 kids in 3rd-12th grades. The kids will meet every Saturday in the White Cedar Room at Kateri Center where they will be reading Tolkien’s The Hobbit.¬†Other Hobbit related activities will include making art, sculpting with clay, designing costumes, making jewelry, archery and more. There will also be several field trips which include the Adler Planetarium, the Field Museum, and Lill Street Art Center.

This session of Adventures in Art and Literacy will end with the viewing of The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey directed by Peter Jackson (director of the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy) in IMAX.

Adventures in Art and Literacy is open to American Indian CPS students in 3rd-12th grades and have a current ED506 form on file with Chicago T7.
