T7 Youth Ambassador 2016 – 2017

  The Title VII American Indian Education Program is happy to welcome and introduce the new Youth Ambassador, Rafael Reza.  Rafael Reza is a Senior at Von Steuben High School.  He is from the Yavapai Nation People of the Red Mountain, in Fort McDowell, Arizona.  He was inducted into the National Honor Society and is a State Decathlon  champion.  Rafael’s speech this year spoke about Native Mascots and Imagery that still perpetuates stereotypes.

Join us at the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian on October 10, 2016 for their celebration of Indigenous People’s Day.  A panel discussion will be from 1pm – 2:30 pm and the museum will be Free Admission.  The featured speakers for the panel will be Scotti Clifford (Lakota), Patty Loew (Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe) and Rafael Reza (Yavapai).
